Paraprofessional Assessment Information
The ETS ParaPro Assessment was developed in response to the federal No Child Left Behind Act. The law requires that paraprofessionals serving in an instructional capacity satisfy one of the following:
An associate of arts degree OR • Two years of college OR • Demonstrate, through a state or local academic assessment, knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, the instruction of reading, writing, and math
The State of Washington requires a passing score of 455 or higher. If you do not score 455, you can retake the test once as soon as you would like. If more than one retake is necessary, you must wait 7 days after your most recent attempt, and then, you can retake the test two more times. Continued retakes will follow the same pattern of a 7-day waiting period after two (2) attempts. This retake policy applies to both at home testing and testing at physical test centers.
