Selected through a district-wide community voting process, these two outstanding employees were chosen from an incredible group of finalists representing schools and departments across Toppenish School District. Families, students, staff, and community members were invited to participate in the voting process and help recognize the individuals who make a lasting impact on our students and community each day.

As a third-grade teacher at Valley View Elementary, Chantel Ramirez is known for creating meaningful learning experiences while ensuring every student feels valued, supported, and connected. Her commitment extends far beyond the classroom through community service projects, support for families in need, school-wide traditions, and partnerships that create memorable opportunities for students. Chantel shared that her goal is to help every child know that school can be a place of joy, belonging, and opportunity while creating lasting memories that students will carry with them long after they leave her classroom.

Jessie Lustre has been selected as our 2026 Classified Employee of the Year for her dedication to supporting students, staff, and the Toppenish High School community. Her recognition reflects the vital role classified employees play in helping our schools operate successfully and ensuring students have the support they need to thrive each day.

Please join us in celebrating Chantel and Jessie during our Retirement & Recognition Banquet on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Legends Casino. Tickets are required to attend and may be purchased through the District Office until Friday, June 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. This is the final opportunity to purchase tickets.
