2024-2025 Toppenish School District Report Card Released

Posted Date: 12/19/25 (02:53 PM)

Dear Families and Community Members:

Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has released its 2024-2025 Report Card which means the Toppenish School District 2024-2025 Annual Report is now available for review.  This report provides key information regarding the educational progress of Toppenish School District and public schools across Washington State. We are proud to share that Toppenish saw growth in several areas last school year, including an increase in the number of students who earned passing scores on the SBAC Math and Science assessments.

You can view the electronic report by visiting our school district website at https://www.toppenish.wednet.edu/37489_2 or you can visit the District Office to review a printed copy.  The report includes information on enrollment and student demographics, a summary of student scores on state tests, student graduation rates, an annual budget report, and a description of the district’s learning improvement plan.

Washington State has created a Framework for Accountability that identifies how schools can improve the education of all students.  The Framework combines as many as nine indicators (such as graduation rates, attendance, and proficiency on state tests in math and English language arts) into a 1-10 score.  The school’s score then determines the state’s support.  For the 2025-2026 school year, Toppenish School District will have the following schools identified for support:

Tier 3:  Garfield Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Valley View Elementary, and Toppenish Middle School

Tier 3 Plus:  Kirkwood Elementary and CATS

To work toward improving the educational experience for all students, the district is:

  • Implementing strong, aligned instruction across all schools by using high-quality curriculum materials, providing professional learning and coaching for teachers, and ensuring every classroom follows an effective Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) so that students receive the right level of help, whether they need intervention, grade-level support, or enrichment.

  • Using data intentionally in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) where teachers meet regularly to review student progress, identify learning gaps, plan targeted instruction, and monitor the impact of interventions. This ensures that decisions about teaching and learning are timely, consistent, and responsive to student needs.

  • Building positive, safe, and engaging school environments through districtwide implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), increased communication with families, and stronger partnerships that support attendance, student well-being, and academic success.

We are also proud of our commitment to inclusion, providing students receiving special services the opportunity to learn alongside their peers, building a culture of belonging and mutual respect.  We are equally committed to supporting our Multilingual (ML) learners, ensuring they experience strong academic growth while celebrating the rich diversity they bring to our schools.  These efforts reflect our dedication to helping every student achieve their full potential in an inclusive and thriving learning community.
