Superintendent's Message
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year! I hope this message finds each of you rested, recharged, and ready to embrace the possibilities of a new academic year. As I begin my second year as Superintendent of Toppenish School District 202, I want to express how grateful I am to call Toppenish home. Moving from Texas to Washington last year to serve as your superintendent was a big step, but one that was made easier by the warmth, pride, and resilience of our students, families and staff. I’ve been truly inspired by the spirit of the community and the commitment we all share to helping every student succeed.
I want to start by expressing my sincere appreciation to the heart of our schools, our dedicated teachers, paraprofessionals, and instructional leaders. Your commitment to refining curriculum, improving systems, and engaging in collaborative planning is already shaping a strong foundation for the year ahead. Your efforts reflect the heart of our district’s mission: to provide an environment where student learning is vibrant, student voice is valued, and every learner is inspired to grow.
Equally, I want to acknowledge the behind-the-scenes heroes, our exceptional facilities and custodial teams. Thank you for your hard work in preparing our campuses. Your contributions create the safe, clean, and welcoming environments that our students and staff deserve, and your efforts do not go unnoticed. Together, we are ensuring that every space reflects pride, care, and readiness for learning.
To our phenomenal students: You are the reason we do what we do! Each of you carries a spark of potential that can ignite the future, not just of this community, but of the world. At Toppenish, we are committed to nurturing your curiosity, honoring your individuality, and providing learning experiences that encourage you to think big, act boldly, and dream endlessly.
To our valued parents and guardians: Thank you for trusting us with your children and walking beside us in this educational journey. Your belief in our schools and the support you showed last year, especially through the successful passing of the EP&O Levy, was a testament to our community’s unity and vision. I pledged to you that your support would translate into meaningful programming, and we are holding true to that promise. As always, we remain committed to creating safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environments where every child can thrive.
This year, we renew our collective focus on academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and the safety and wellbeing of all students. Our shared goal is to nurture the whole child, intellectually, emotionally, and socially, while fostering lifelong friendships, confidence in one’s abilities, and a genuine love for learning.
I am confident that through our shared commitment and passion, we will make this school year extraordinary. Together, we will lead with integrity, kindness, and accountability. I remain guided by the belief that "We Are Greater Together", but that greatness requires each of us to be #ALLIN for the benefit of our students.
Thank you once again for being part of the Toppenish School District family. We can’t wait to welcome our students back on Thursday, August 14th. Please remember that August 14, 15 and 18 will be early release days.
Let’s make 2025–2026 a year to remember!
With warmest regards,
Dr. Toron Wooldridge
