TUTOR

FOR THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR ONLY

 

TEMPORARY/EXTRA DUTY POSITION ON TIMESHEET

SATURDAYS – FEBRUARY 2012 – MAY 2012

8 A.M. – NOON (4 HOURS)

BARGAINING UNIT:  NONE

PAY RANGE:  $29.00/HOUR

ANTICIPATED START DATE:  FEBRUARY 25, 2012

 

ASSIGNMENT:  Assist students in need of extra help in the area of high school level English.  Encourage students to have high expectations, stay in school, study hard, and to pursue post-secondary educational opportunities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Hold a valid Washington State English teaching certificate.

·         Possess classroom experience in an alternative school setting preferred.

·         Knowledge of skills required to be a successful tutor.

·         Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member.

·         Willing to participate in data collection and documentation of effectiveness of tutorial support provided.

·         Must be a current certificated employee or certified substitute teacher of the Toppenish School District.

·         Ability to build rapport with students and families from diverse cultural, social and economic backgrounds.

·         Knowledge of school/district policies and procedures.

·         Must be able to work most Saturdays.

·         Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
